Tags added to an assignment are applied to all insights generated by this assignment and can be used to filter and search for insights.
Assignment Templates (Optional)
Assignment Templates allow you to create a configurable template with dynamic variables. This is great for use cases where you want to run the same Assignment with slight variations (e.g. different customer name, data source, date range, etc).
You can think of an Assignment Template like a "parent", from which you create "child" Assignments. Any changes made to the template will automatically propagate to all the child Assignments.
1. Create a New Template
To create a new Template, click on the 3-dot action button from the Assignment Card or table row, then click "Create Template".
You will be brought to the Template page, which looks identical to the normal Assignment Page. Here you will be prompted to add variables.
2. Create Variables
Variables allow you to create new assignments from a template with unique values. Think of the variables as "keys". When you create a new Assignment from a Template you give the variable a value.
Variables appear as a clickable button, in the text areas for the Template Name, Objective, Instructions, and Task Name & Descriptions. In this example we create a variable called "date" and insert it into the areas of the Template where it will be dynamically replaced with a unique value for each child Assignment.
3. Create an Assignment from a Template
Once you have created variables and inserted them into the applicable areas of the Template. You can now create a new Assignment from the template where you will be prompted to assign a unique value.
In this example, we create a new Assignment with "March 2025" as the value. We could repeat this for other Assignments we want to create, such as April 2025 or May-June 2024 and so on.
Once the Assignment is created, you will see it appear in the right-hand side of the page. Assignments that have been created from a Template will be marked with a distinct purple button in the Assignment detail page which links back to the parent Template.
Note
You cannot directly edit the name or task details of an Assignment created from a Template. These changes must be made within the Template itself and propagate to all child Assignments.
However, you can still apply tags, schedule recurring frequency, archive, and delete individual Assignments created from a Template.
